Privacy Policy

Ddukddak is a free collection of tools with no sign-up. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and most of the tools run entirely inside your browser. This page sets out what does reach our server, and which cookies are used to serve advertising.

At a glance

The details follow, but in short:

  • There is no sign-up, so we never collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or payment details.
  • Files you open in the image and PDF tools are never uploaded — they are processed in your browser.
  • Only two tools talk to our server: “My IP” and the “SEO Analyzer”.
  • Advertising is served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies.
  • The request records kept to prevent abuse (your IP address) are deleted after two days.

Tools that never leave your browser

Image compression, image cropping, ID photo sizing, merging and splitting PDFs, and building a PDF from images all work on the file directly in your browser memory. Nothing is uploaded, so we can neither see nor keep what you opened.

The QR code generator, character counter, password generator, unit converter, Korean age and D-Day calculator, lunar–solar date converter, Korean holiday calendar, loan calculator, take-home pay calculator, severance calculator, VAT and percentage calculator, and passport name romanizer work the same way: what you type never leaves the page.

The password generator uses your browser’s cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), and the passwords it produces are never stored or transmitted.

What does reach our server

Two tools go through the server. Here is exactly what travels and what is kept.

  • My IP — the server returns the IP address it observed for your connection. The lookup itself is not stored.
  • SEO Analyzer — the address you enter is sent to our server, which fetches that site on your behalf and returns the report. The address you entered is not stored.
  • Request records — so the SEO Analyzer cannot be used as a scanner or an open proxy, we record the time of each request and the IP address it came from in order to count them. Only the IP address, the kind of request and the timestamp are stored; neither the address analysed nor the result is included.
  • Web server logs — our hosting provider (cafe24) keeps ordinary web server access logs. Their retention and handling follow the hosting provider’s own policy.

Before you use the SEO Analyzer

The SEO Analyzer works by having our server request the target site on your behalf. The access log of the site being analysed therefore records our server’s IP address, not yours.

The reverse is also true: the address you enter passes through our server. Do not enter internal or otherwise private addresses — internal and loopback addresses are blocked outright, but even for a public address our server really does connect to it.

Cookies and advertising

This site serves advertising through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites.

You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google using the links below. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may change how some sites behave.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, personalised advertising is served only after consent has been collected through a Google-certified consent management platform.

How long things are kept

The request records kept to prevent abuse are deleted after two days. That is the entirety of what we store ourselves.

Web server logs are retained by our hosting provider, and advertising cookies by Google and its advertising partners, each under their own policies.

Sharing with third parties

We do not sell or hand over any information. Information collected through cookies by Google and its advertising partners in order to serve ads is governed by those companies’ own privacy policies.

Your choices

You can block cookies in your browser settings or delete ones already stored, and you can turn off personalised advertising alone through Google Ad Settings above.

The only thing we hold is the short-lived request record containing your IP address, which is erased automatically after two days. If you would like it removed sooner, tell us through the contact page.

Children’s privacy

Ddukddak is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. There is no sign-up, so no personal details — age included — are collected in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will amend this page and move the date above forward. Significant changes will be announced on the site itself.
